BP2 QTR3: Wall-E(conomics)
The Disney movie Wall-E links to economics in many different ways. The small planet of Earth is empty only robots named Wall-E remain. The humans left the world over-dveloped, and full of trash. All the humans are on a space ship, they consume more than they did on the Earth. In a fight to get back to our home planet they discover how developed the ship really is. They don't know what developing countries look like. When they get back to Earth it hits them how bad they hurt there home, no oceans, and no trees.
Econmics say that Wall-E was a attempt to scare people about pollution and urban sprawl, showing that these scenes were taking place. I think that this is just what could happen if we let it. I don't agree with them fully Disney was not looking to scar people, but to inform them about

BP 1 QTR3: T-Shirt Travels Reaction Paper
I have picked questions 1,2, and4 to answer.
The narrater learned about Zambia's second hand clothing business when she first arrived in the Country. She found out that 95% of The Salvation Army's second hand clothing was being sold to dealers. These dealers were then selling them to Zambian shop owners to sell. She wanted to let everyone know where their clothing was really going so she made the documentary T-shirt Travels. Luka is one of the shop owners that sell these clothes. He always asks to pick out his own bale to make sure it is a good set. A good set will make him a better profit and help buy food for his cousins, brothers, sisters, and mother. He did not have the money to finish school when he was younger and started to get in trouble. Luka doesn't want the same future for his family.
The Salvation Army sells most of the used clothes that are donated, to the dealers that then ship them to Africa. Second hand clothes is America's biggest export to Africa.in these exchanges the dealers make the most money because of how many Africans buy the bales. Africans cannot manufacture their own clothing because of how big the second hand clothing business really is. The business shut down all of the their clothing factories. Africans now depend on America for their clothing.
Some Africans think America is great and love us very much, but others think that all we want is money. They believe this because of the second hand clothing industry.

Current Events QTR 2 Week 6: Arctic express rolls into Tampa Bay area
Today the tempature won't even rise to the 60"s. The rest of the week looks very similar to these conditions. A hard freeze warning for most of Florida. Places expecting these tempatures are Brooksville, Spring Hill, New Port Richey, Zephyrhills, Brandon, Tampa, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bradenton...Wauchula, Sebring, Avon Park and Arcadia. It looks like you'll have to start covering plants tonight.
I think that this is gonna be great! We need a good break from all this heat. But I hope that this year isn't as long or as cold as last. Everybody is covering up and pulling out their winter wear. This morning was freezing cold thank the lord for warm class rooms!

Current Events QTR 2 Week 5: New homeowner may have found body of previous owner in foreclosed home
A man in St. Petersburg Florida found the body of his house's previous owner. He found the remains inside a car in his garage. He had bought the foreclosed house not long before discovering the body. Major Andrew Walters said they don't know how long the body has been deceased or cause of death. The body is believed to a woman.
I think that this story is very creepy. I wouldn't want to go back to the house becuase there was a dead body there. I feel very bad for whoever this is and there family. The cops need to go throught a thorough search and find out how this person was killed. It could have been a murder! Youe don't know! I haven't seen this on the news yet but look forward to findig out more.

Current Events: QRT 2 Week 3: Twinkie Diet Helps Nutrition Professer Lose 27 Pounds
Have you ever heard of a Twinkie Diet? Professer Mark Haub went on a 2 month "Twinkie Diet" and lost 27 pounds! But his diet also consisted of Little Debbies, Doritos, Twinkies, sugary cereal, and Oreos. After 2 months his body mass index went from 28.8 to "over weight" to 24.9 "normal". Haubs bad cholesteral dropped 20% and his good cholersteral wentt up 20%. But Mark does not want anybody else to try this diet due to increase in cancer risks.
I think that this diet was true and very affective. But becuase all of the risks that you are taking you probally shouldn't try it. If these snacks are supossed to be unhealthy then they should not be put forward like this. I don't think that this diet was origanally planned to help your body but ended up helping more than he realized. You probally shouldn't promote this kind of eating seeing on how America is dealing with countless cases of childhood obesity.
